Tunis, The Republic of Tunisia, 20 September 2022- The Ministry of Youth and Sports in Tunisia and the United Nation Population Fund Arab States Regional office (UNFPA ASRO) are inaugurating the Centre of Excellence for Youth in the Arab Region. The opening will take place at the Centre premises today, Tuesday 20 September, at 17:00 Tunis time.

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Kamal Daqish, and UNFPA Deputy Regional Director for the Arab States, Dr. Karina Nersesian, will join the opening ceremony.

The Centre is one of the outcomes of the Arab Youth Forum in the Arab Region - second edition held in Tunisia in 2019. It will offer better knowledge on the situation of youth and adolescents and a space for youth to exchange experiences and innovative ideas, enrich their knowledge and strengthen their skills, engage them in regional discussions on their issues and involve them in advocacy and policy dialogues, and provide technical support to youth-led initiatives.

The ceremony will be livestreamed on all partners’ Facebook pages.
