UNFPA empowers female Syrian refugee in Egypt

Asma' Al-Shorbaji, Syrian refugee, lives in Egypt. She has been visiting the UNFPA-supported Obour Safe Space for Women managed by Syriana NGO, to learn reading and writing.
UNFPA supports 5 Women and Girls Safe Spaces (WGSS) in Egypt where around 800 – 1,000 women and girls, including refugees from Syria, can access psychosocial support and awareness-raising sessions on gender based violence (GBV) and attend educational, skills-training and recreational activities every month.
