Since the collapse of the ceasefire in mid-March, families have once again been plunged into a cycle of deadly violence and deprivation. Nearly 400,000 have been forcibly displaced, again, into ever shrinking spaces, without access to the basics to survive..

The health system has collapsed and only a fraction of facilities remain partially functional. Medical supplies, including incubators and maternal health medicines, are stalled at borders, making pregnancy and childbirth deadly threats.

Overflowing shelters, which lack sanitation, have also increased women and girls’ risks to gender-based violence

In the West Bank, escalating military operations have displaced tens of thousands, while movement restrictions, settler violence and limited access to maternal health care are further endangering lives.

Despite these severe constraints, UNFPA remained operational throughout March, delivering critical services across Gaza and the West Bank. Over 25,000 people were reached with life-saving sexual and reproductive health services, including maternal and emergency obstetric care. More than 8,900 individuals received gender-based violence prevention and response services, including psychosocial support, dignity kits and legal referrals.

To meet urgent and ongoing needs through December 2025, UNFPA is appealing for US$99.2 million as part of the 2025 OPT Flash Appeal. As of April 2025, only US$12.5 million has been received, representing just 13 per cent of the required funding. An additional US$86.7 million is urgently needed to sustain and scale up operations..
