UNFPA supports 5 Women and Girls Safe Spaces (WGSS) in Egypt where around 800 – 1,000 women and girls, including refugees from Syria, can access psychosocial support and awareness-raising sessions on gender based violence (GBV) and attend educational, skills-training and recreational activities every month.

UNFPA, the European Commission, the United States, and Jordanian partners jointly mark the safe delivery of 5,000 plus babies in the UNFPA-supported reproductive health clinic in Jordan’s Zaatari Camp.
 
UNFPA believes that every Syrian woman and girl has the right to have access to affordable reproductive health care and be effectively protected from gender-based violence. UNFPA and partners are scaling up efforts to empower and improve the lives of Syrian women and youth and impacted communities in host countries, including by advocating for human rights and gender equality, to better cope with and recover from the crisis.

About 5000 women and girls can get psychosocial support and attend individual/group counseling sessions every month at  the WGSS.
